[ Profile ]The world doesn’t lack awareness It lacks agency.
People already know the system is failing. What they lack is the capacity to help build a better future. We exist to close the gap between knowing and acting.
[ Purpose ]People know the system is failing. What they lack is a future they can see themselves in, and a way to help build it.
[ Mission ]A better world for all. Not a slightly greener version of this one.
We turn complex challenges into responses that empower collective action.
[ Vision ]About us
No Objectives is a non-profit research and design agency based in Copenhagen. We work at the intersection of three disciplines that rarely share a room: scientific research, communication design, and movement mobilisation. Not a think tank, not a creative studio, not a campaign shop. We are the infrastructure that connects all three, because change dies in the gaps between them.
The agency was founded on a simple observation. Researchers understand the science but can't make anyone act on it. Communicators can make people care about almost anything, including things they barely understand. Organisers stand ready to mobilise, but without a defensible direction. Most organisations specialise in one of these and hand the rest to someone else, and the handoff is where ideas die. We removed the handoff. One organisation carries the knowledge the whole way, from what is true to what gets done.
In practice, that means our team does things most agencies would split across three firms. We sit with scientists and follow the argument down to the footnotes. We design publications, exhibitions, campaigns and films that make complexity legible. We build decision-making tools that translate planetary boundaries into budgets and scenarios leadership can actually govern with. And we construct the coalitions that carry the work forward after the launch, so the launch is a beginning rather than a peak.
We work with foundations, NGOs, municipalities, companies, research institutions and grassroots movements. What they have in common is knowledge nobody acts on: the report in the drawer, the strategy that stalls, the cause everyone agrees with and nobody joins.
The proof is public. An entire industry demanding the climate regulation it used to fight. A green paper that reframed Europe's housing debate. The first Danish municipality governing construction through a carbon budget. Housing built at 60 to 75 percent lower emissions, at market price. We didn't theorise any of it. We built it.
We call our method Branded Activism: using the tools developed to sell endless growth to build its opposite. Our aim is a post-growth, sufficiency-based and equitable world. A better world for all, not a slightly greener version of this one.
The non-profit structure is not decoration. We are legally prohibited from extracting profit. Salaries are capped at the Danish average. Finances are transparent, methods are open, and surplus is redistributed to underfunded work for the common good. Our advice is not shaped by upselling, because impact is the only thing we're allowed to accumulate.
Bring us the thing that isn't moving. One conversation is usually enough to see whether there's a fit.
[ Where we sit ]Not a think tank.
Not a creative studio.
Not a campaign shop.
We connect all three.
Because change dies in the gaps between them.
[ Principles ]
What we are:
Change dies in the gaps between research, communication and mobilization. We are the infrastructure that closes them.
What we are:
Physical reality over wishful thinking. Sufficiency before efficiency before renewables. Open knowledge over owned knowledge. Distributed agency over centralised solutions.
What we wont do:
Greenwashing. Growth marketing. Communication without research behind it. Silver bullets solutions. Economic arguments that omit climate and nature from the calculation.
[ Principles ]No Objectives is guided by a small set of interdependent principles that function together as a single operating logic.
Post-growth orientation defines the direction. Non-profit governance, capped salaries, and financial transparency define the economic boundaries.
Open-source practice and rights to copy define how knowledge circulates. Redistribution of surplus defines how value moves. Accountability to people and planetary boundaries defines how success is judged.
Together, these principles ensure that No Objectives exists to enable systemic change rather than organizational growth, to circulate value rather than accumulate it, and to treat impact as something that multiplies through others.
[ Why people hire us ][ Why non-profit ]We can’t extract profit. Salaries are capped. Finances are open.
Which means our only possible return on your project is its impact. Our advice is not shaped by upselling. Your budget buys strategy and also funds work toward a safe and just future.
